Côte d’Ivoire: RHDP reacts vigorously to Amnesty International report

While Amnesty International calls on the Ivorian government in a report to investigate the violence resulting from the electoral crisis in the country, the ruling party has reacted vigorously by denouncing a biased report.

“The RHDP has decided to react, because it cannot accept that its militants and the elements of the security forces who have suffered the full brunt of this violence from the opposition, are indexed by this obviously oriented and biased report. as the executioners, ”said Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, RHDP spokesperson. He indicates that the human rights organization has not told the whole truth and clearly accuses the opposition of everything that has happened and is happening during this crisis in Côte d’Ivoire.

“Amnesty International has tried again to hide the sun with the hand, by engaging in real gymnastics, in an attempt to considerably relativize the opposition’s responsibility in this violence and to redirect the spotlight towards power,” said Adjoumani. It is clear that the latter therefore does not blame his “camp” which, according to him, is the victim in this case. “Amnesty International has tried to pass off the perpetrators as the victims and the victims as the culprits in the perpetration of this violence,” he added.

This reaction is quite normal; but how to know the reality of the facts if no investigation was carried out? Why, if the authorities are certain of the perpetrators of the violence, have they not reacted to try to find the culprits and punish them? If the government accuses Amnesty of using double standards, it is evident that it itself is not white as snow in this matter, because no conflict happens on its own, there are always at least two parties. However, the winners often tend to think of themselves as the victims knowing exactly what happened.
