Since the point of August 11, the report published this Friday August 14 by the Regional Health Agency reports five new “clusters” or epidemic outbreaks in New Aquitaine (We went from 11 “clusters” to 16 this Friday).
The famous cluster initially identified by mistake in Pau, and finally located in Ciboure, on the Basque coast, now has 14 people tested positive at Covid-19, including one in Lot-et-Garonne and three in Landes. It would bea bachelor party which involves people residing in the Basque Country and in the Landes mainly, around an outing organized with a sailing school on the Basque Coast. One of the people who tested positive works in Pau, which led the ARS by mistake to locate this epidemic focus there.
3 people hospitalized in the 64
There are now 3 people hospitalized in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, two more than last Tuesday. None in intensive care. Since the start of the pandemic, Covid-19 has killed 27 people in our department.
Across the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, 62 people are hospitalized, including 11 in intensive care.
In terms of PCR tests (by nasal swab), the provisional count shows 5 positive cases detected out of the 550 tests carried out on August 12, 18 out of the 1209 tests carried out on August 11, i.e. an average positivity rate of around 1%.
