“The spread of COVID-19 has reached a critical point. We need everyone to do their part and follow public health advice to stop the spread, ”the minister said on Saturday.

These 1,822 new infections represent a slight drop from the record set the day before. As of Friday, 1,855 cases were listed by Ontario Public Health.

About 1,200 of those 1,855 cases are in the Greater Toronto Area.

So far, just over 113,000 Ontarians have contracted the virus.

The new provincial report also shows 29 new deaths. The pandemic has claimed 3,624 lives in the province since mid-March.

According to the most recent epidemiological data from the province’s Public Health, 1,510 cases have been resolved in the past 24 hours.

The province has conducted 55,086 new tests for COVID-19 since Friday.
