Dakar, Nov 30 (APS) – The Ministry of Health and Social Action announced Monday 14 new coronavirus (Covid-19) contaminations recorded in the last twenty-four hours.
The new infections were detected following 722 tests for a positivity rate of 1.94%, said the director of prevention Dr El Hadji Mamadou Ndiaye, presenting the daily assessment of the Covid-19 pandemic in Senegal .
They consist of five contact cases followed by the services of the Ministry of Health and Social Action and nine cases resulting from community transmission.
Infections for which the source of transmission is unknown come from Grand-Dakar (1), Keur Massar (1), Liberté 6 (1), Mamelles (1), Mermoz (1), Ngor (1), Nord-Foire ( 1), Pété (1) and Point-E (1).
No deaths have been recorded in the past twenty-four hours, said Dr Ndiaye, announcing that 10 patients have tested negative and declared cured.
Six serious cases are taken care of in the intensive care units.
Senegal has recorded since March 2, date of onset of the disease in its territory, 16,089 positive cases of Covid-19, including 15,607 cured and 333 deaths. One hundred and forty-eight patients are still under treatment.
