COVID-19: two deaths and 6 new cases in Bas-Saint-Laurent

In its report dated November 14, the CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent reports two new deaths and six new cases of COVID-19 since the day before. The region has thus passed the bar of 600 positive cases declared since the start of the pandemic.

The two deaths occurred in two growing environments, namely at the Résidence des Bâtisseurs de Matane and at the Résidence des Sages, also located in Matane. The total number of people with COVID-19 who have lost their lives since the start of the health crisis now stands at 13 in Bas-Saint-Laurent.

There are also two people hospitalized in connection with this virus in the region. Now 480 people are considered to have recovered and 501 screening tests were carried out the day before.

Of the six new cases listed today, 2 are in the MRC of La Matanie, 3 in the MRC of Rimouski-Neigette and 1 in the MRC of Rivière-du-Loup.

Currently, three environments are considered “in bloom” in Bas-Saint-Laurent. At the Résidence Les Bâtisseurs de Matane, there are 81 cases, including 4 deaths. At the Résidence des Sages de Matane, the CISSS reports 12 cases including 2 people who lost their lives. At the Rimouski GMF-U, the situation is stable, three employees contracted COVID-19.


Data released today shows 1,448 new cases of COVID-19 in Quebec and 25 more deaths. The number of hospitalizations remained unchanged at 583.
