Proof that young people aged 12 to 17 are responding overwhelmingly to Quebec’s call to be vaccinated against COVID-19, they passed the 18-29 age group on Thursday in terms of the percentage of people inoculated.
According to data as of June 9, 67% of them had received a first dose or had made an appointment.
For their part, the 18-24 were positioned at 65%, while the 25-29 were at 64%.
The news seemed to delight the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, who indicated on Twitter that the 12-17 were also “on the verge of catching up with the 30-34”, which are also at 67%.
“The 12-17s are on the right track for a return to normal in the classroom. The 18-29 must do the same to reach 75% and reduce health measures in school, work, leisure, etc. ”, added the Minister.
As of Wednesday, 69% of the Quebec population had received a first dose or had made an appointment. Québec’s objective is to reach the symbolic bar of 75% both for the general population and for each of the age groups.
