Covid in Savoie and Haute-Savoie: update on the epidemic

In Savoie and Haute Savoie, the situation has been stable for several weeks according to the Regional Health Agency and epidemiologists from Public Health France, in relation to the incidence rate and the number of patients in intensive care. The Indian variant of covid circulates little in our Savoy countries.

Rather favorable indicators in the Savoy region

The incidence rate is 52 per 100,000 inhabitants in Savoie, 63 per 100,000 inhabitants in Haute-Savoie. This is less than the regional and national average. The most concrete figure, the most telling is 10: the number of patients in intensive care in Savoie. They are 12 in Haute Savoie.

But all this data remains significantly higher than that of last June, at the end of the first long and almost total confinement.

So vigilance remains essential! Vaccination should continue according to epidemiologists who observe “a little shortness of breath”. Time slots are free at this time. Only half of the adult population has received a first dose in our departments, a quarter has complete vaccination coverage.

Among those over 65, “we can do better” also according to the ARS. 80% of this population received a first dose in the Savoy region, but hardly more of this age group received their two doses of vaccine.
