Critics’ reviews have surfaced online. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansongwhich turned out to be mixed, but with a certain bias towards the positive.
Now the project has 69 points on Metacritic according to 18 reviews. Professional reviewers note that the game tells a very exciting and interesting dark story, but suffers from numerous problems in other elements.
The texts often mention a certain randomness a project where good ideas are combined with bad moves. In particular, the characters received praise (although not always), the atmosphere and the detective component itself. Also, as it turned out, the decisions made by the player in the plot really have significant consequences.
The reviewers note that the game falls short to Bloodlines, but still performs at a very decent level. At the very least, fans of the universe should not miss it.
But the project also turned out to have many shortcomings – some authors did not like the riddles, while others scolded the design, which was too restrictive for the player. In addition, Swangsong lacks technical polish – there are various bugs, problems with models etc.
Some reviewers added that the project did not fully live up to its potential – the game was even compared with Forgotten City that the level of implementation of some ideas falls short of the initial ambitions of the authors. And some wrote down in the minuses and too measured pace of the story.
