Investing.com – rose during the Asian session on Thursday.
According to the New York Mercantile Exchange, January was trading at USD72.84 per barrel at time of writing, up by 1.15%.
It was previously trading at a session high of USD72.85 per barrel. It may find support at USD71.75 and resistance at USD82.71.
The dollar index futures, which measures the performance of the greenback against a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.18% to trade at USD105.24.
Meanwhile on NYMEX, the price for February rose by 1.05% to trade at USD77.98 per barrel, while the spread between contracts stood at USD5.14 per barrel.
