The curfew will be extended to Dakar and Thiès for a month and with the same schedules, we learned this Friday, at Rfm. An announcement confirmed by Liberation online which cites “authorized sources“.

This means that the populations of the two regions concerned will still have to take their troubles patiently, given that “all other measures taken in the context of the state of health disaster will be renewed“.

Faced with the resurgence of cases, the Head of State announced the reestablishment, on January 6, of a curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. in Dakar and Thiès, two of the 14 regions of the country.

The Senegalese government announced, on January 18, the extension of the measure, for at least eight days, in the two regions to try to stop the progression of the Covid-19. Despite everything, the cases are increasing crescendo.

Senegal has recorded 32,378 positive cases, including 26,624 cured, 787 deaths, according to the report released Thursday by the health authorities. 4,966 patients are under treatment.
