As you could see it on our site yesterday at the end of the day, the first tests about Cyberpunk 2077 have appeared around the world. While some journalists rightly welcome the construction of the world that welcomes us as well as the immersion offered to players, many tests highlight an omnipresence of bugs that may put some buyers off.
While we might have thought at first that these negative opinions would affect the morale of the development teams of the soft, we find out that some of them are happy with this difference of opinion and invite players to read the negative opinions in their entirety.
This is particularly the case of Philipp Weber who officiates as designer on the project and who explains, via his account Twitter, he do not stop at the title and rating of a test, but that every word written by the author of the negative reviews is important.
I’m so happy to see # Cyberpunk2077 coming to gamers soon!
We’ve done our best to create something that we can be proud of, something that makes people think and thrill. There are so many diverse reviews with lots of interesting points, and I’m still reading them right now. As a designer, it’s especially gratifying to see that opinions can vary so much, even for unique characters, quests, and moments. And that’s one of the most important parts, the last thing we want is a game that nobody wants to talk about.
That said, if you don’t like a review, don’t just look at the title or the score, but read what the person actually wrote, because it’s often interesting. People are different and opinions are different, don’t pick on someone just for having a different opinion and experience than you.
In these times when players no longer hesitate to inundate certain developers with death threats without thinking about the consequences of their actions, Philip’s reaction is to be welcomed and proves once again that everything is a question of mentality. If the different tests available on the web make you want to discover Night City, it is not too late to order the game and have it as soon as it is released.
