This Monday, August 8, Deportivo Independiente Medellín confirmed the signing of Daniel Torres, a 32-year-old Colombian midfielder, who came to the powerful to reinforce the midfield. Coming from Castellón in Spain and after spending six years in European football where he played for Deportivo Alavés, Albacete, Zaragoza and the aforementioned Castellón, the former Santa Fe and Nacional will have his second cycle with the red, after starting as champion of League in 2016.
David Loaiza’s injury, added to the departure of Juan Carlos Díaz to Coritiba in Brazil, added to the player’s desire to return to the country, led to an agreement being reached for Torres to wear the Antioquia team’s jersey again.
“Hello powerful, how are we, I hope very well, just as happy as I am, because I’m home. A hug for everyone, the Lord bless you and see you very soon,” Torres said in a video published by the club on his app.
In his first stage with Medellín, Daniel Torres played between July 2015 and July 2016, 48 games, of which 41 were for the League and seven for the Colombian Cup. He scored three goals and was part of the 2016 I-League champion team. The player from Cáqueza Cundinamarca signed until December 2023.
Torres is the fourth addition of the powerful for this semester, the other three: Christian Marrugo, Jorge Segura and Jordy Monroy Ararat.
