David Beckham could be offered a golden bridge to become the ambassador of the 2022 World Cup.
Qatar has the means to convince just about anyone, and had already convinced several stars, including Zinedine Zidane, to become sandwich men of their candidacy for the 2022 World Cup. Now, with the approach of the competition which starts in a little over a year, the small emirate will begin its marketing campaign and has chosen an emblematic player: David Beckham.
According to The Sun, next November, namely one year before the kickoff of the World Cup, Beckham should be appointed ambassador not of the competition, but of the country, and this for a period of ten years. A choice of the heart which would bring him 177 million euros. The owner of Inter Miami has already been scolded in England for this decision, reports the Telegraph: several LGBT associations as well as Amnesty International hope that Becks will use its notoriety to highlight the gaps in Qatar in terms of human rights. Not sure it’s in the contract.
