Enrico Greppi, aka Erriquez, face and soul of Bandabardò, died this morning in his home in Fiesole. To confirm the news his manager Francesco Barbaro, by his side since the beginning. The artist, who was 60 years old, had been fighting with a bad evil for some time, but his reserve and his energy had never allowed anything to shine through on the outside.
“The wildest, loudest and most colorful Italian folk group in business”, we read opening the official website of the band, and Erriquez represented this spirit at its best.
With Bandabardò he had recently celebrated 25 years of career with a great event at the Mandela Forum in Florence, together with many artist friends, and since its inception in 1993, the group had always remained faithful to itself and its ideals , becoming a reference point of the music scene of the 90s and beyond, so much so that even today the choir “If I relax collapse” continues to be sung by every generation. Very reserved but sunny, Erriquez has also always fought in the social field by embracing the causes of the weakest.
“We greet with gratitude a generous warrior and a great Poet”, are the moving words of his family.
