The actress Naya Rivera passed away last July in a boat accident in California. A negligent homicide lawsuit has now been filed against the park operators Ventura County and the United Water Conservation District.
The documents were submitted by Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey (37) on behalf of their 5-year-old son Josey.
According to the court documents available to CNN, on the one hand it is alleged that the boat had no safely accessible ladder, no suitable rope, no radio and no safety mechanisms. On the other hand, nobody should have pointed out the actress to the gusts of wind of 34 kilometers per hour in the area.
In the television series “Glee”, California-born Rivera played the bitchy cheerleader Santana Lopez, who falls in love with a classmate. In her last role she can be seen in the dance drama “Step Up: High Water”.
The fatal boat accident happened on a trip on Lake Piru with her five-year-old son. Josey was found sleeping on the boat shortly afterwards, while his mother Naya Rivera, 33, was found dead five days later.
