Delay with digital vaccine proof

The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, asks the 1.6 million vaccinated Quebecers who have not yet received their digital vaccine proof to wait another week, before being able to claim it.

So far, around 4 million people who have been vaccinated have received the email or text message that allows them to download their digital proof of vaccination. Those who have not received it will soon have access to an online tool that will allow them to receive their QR code.

Minister Dubé believes that this code will be particularly useful for travel, in the event that it is integrated into a real vaccination passport.

The Legault government hopes to obtain confirmation, by next week, of new deliveries of Moderna in order to offer those who have received this vaccine the opportunity to advance their second dose.

Currently, Quebecers who have received the vaccine from Pfizer or AstraZeneca are the only ones who can advance their appointment for the second dose.

Minister Dubé refuses for the moment to allow those who have received a first dose of Moderna’s vaccine to get an appointment more quickly with a second dose of Pfizer.

The national director of public health, Horacio Arruda, promises to present soon a “simplified” version of the guidelines on wearing the mask.

This is because in the yellow and green areas, the face covering is no longer mandatory in the workplace if physical distancing is respected, which could generate confusion.

“We are currently doing work to review […] these mask questions, […] to bring consistency, ”said Dr. Arruda.

Discussions, which are underway with the CNESST, concern teachers in particular.
