‘Delhi will not take me anyway, Shreyas too’: Ravichandran Ashwin reveals

India’s star spinner and Delhi star R Ashwin has come out with some revelations ahead of the IPL’s mega auction in the first week of next year. Ashwin says Delhi Capitals are unlikely to keep up with the new season. Ashwin also said that Delhi may not retain former captain Shreyas Iyer. He said this through his own YouTube channel.

‘I don’t think Shreyas Iyer is (among the players retained). I do not know. So someone new has to come. If he had kept me, I would have known that already, ”said Ashwin. Ashwin also pointed out who are the players likely to retain Delhi Capitals before the mega auction. Ashwin says he thinks the trio will be Rishabh Pant, opener Prithviraj Shah and South Africa’s fast bowler Antich Norkia.

Ashwin arrives at Delhi Capitals ahead of the 2019 IPL season. In 28 matches for Delhi, Ashwin has taken 20 wickets at an economy rate of 7.55. Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer is a player who arrived in Delhi in 2015. At that time, Delhi Iyer was acquired through a star auction for Rs 2.6 crore.

The mega auction is expected to take place next month. The amount used for the auction has also been increased. With so many celebrities ready to move, the tempting auction is likely to take place. With the arrival of two more teams from Lucknow and Ahmedabad, the number of IPL teams has increased from eight to 10. This will increase the number of matches.
