The Democratic Party of Korea and the People’s Power said, “Candidates Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Seok-yeol will start a bilateral TV debate before the Lunar New Year holiday.”
Rep. Park Jumin of the Democratic Party, who was in charge of negotiating the TV debate between the two parties, and Seong Il-jong of People’s Strength made the announcement after consultations at the National Assembly Hall.
Democratic Party lawmaker Park Jumin said, “It’s a joint discussion with terrestrial broadcasters,” and said, “The broadcasters will discuss the specific discussion time, and if the broadcasters accept our request, the negotiation team will discuss it again.”
Regarding the topic of discussion, Rep. Seong Il-jong of People’s Strength explained that “all current issues in national affairs are the subject,” and “candidates will ask and answer everything without any restrictions on the topic.”
On the other hand, regarding the multilateral debate involving the 3rd zone candidate, Rep. Park Jumin said, “Today, the Democratic Party and the People’s Power have a meeting, so we are far beyond talking about the four-party debate.” But “The Democratic Party’s position is that the proposal When they come in, they accept it,” he emphasized.
Rep. Il-jong Seong also said, “It is a matter to be considered”, saying, “Now, we have negotiated bilateral discussions.”
