The host had the opportunity to do a special show with this iconic figure of American television in 2012.
“He greeted me and he said to me” It appears that you are the Larry King of Quebec “and I replied” No, no, no, don’t put too much Mr. King, I have not done a quarter of what you did, ”recalls Denis Lévesque.
Larry King was a good listener and was not afraid to broach more controversial topics. “That’s what inspired me,” adds Mr. Lévesque.
For Denis Lévesque, Larry King treated all his guests in the same way. “Important or not necessarily important, there were no prerequisites. You had to be able to bear witness to what you had experienced, ”said the Quebec host.
The CNN host had a knack for receiving the confidences of his interviewees. “He used to say the best question to ask when you’re not sure what to ask is ‘Why’. When someone says something to you and you ask why, they can talk for another three to four minutes, ”concludes Denis Lévesque.
Larry King passed away on Saturday at the age of 87. He spent more than 60 years behind a microphone, and his show on CNN, which ran from 1985 to 2010, had become a staple for politicians and celebrities.
