Detroit Pistons have found their new GM

According to Woj the Detroit Pistons have found their GM. They are finding a deal with Troy Weaver, which was recently announced as the favorite by the NY Times. The contract would be for 4 years.

Weaver had been Oklahoma City’s vice president of basketball operations for 8 seasons. He had been in the Thunder’s front office since 2008, and had already applied for a GM position last year in Washington (the Wizards had hired Tommy Sheppard). He was instrumental in drafting several OKC players, including Russell Westbrook.

Four names had initially surfaced to work with Ed Stefanski (senior advisor toArn Tellem, vice-chairman): former Suns GM Ryan McDonough, former Hawks GM Wes Wilcox current Clippers GM assistant GM Mark Hughes and Nets assistant GM Jeff Peterson.
