Diabetes education, objective of the SEMI-FEDE collaboration

The Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI) and the Spanish Diabetes Federation (WEDDING RING) have signed a framework agreement of collaboration for the joint development of cooperation projects and activities to promote the diabetes educationpromote the improvement of health care and launch initiatives that are considered of interest by both organizations to promote continuous improvement in the field of care for people with diabetes, as specified by SEMI in a note from press.

Among other actions, the agreement includes carrying out technical journeys and events, share information of common interest to detect the needs of patients that contribute to the improvement of care activity and the preparation and publication of studies and collaborations of mutual interest for both entities and for the training of both the group of specialists in Internal Medicine and people with diabetes. As a starting point for this collaboration, FEDE has actively participated in the ‘XVII Meeting of the Working Group on Diabetes, Obesity and Nutrition (DON)’ of the SEMI, held in the city of Valladolid, through its expert representative in diabetes. and obesity Jose Manuel Garcia. For this reason, it is essential to maintain and strengthen the alliance that we established at the time between FEDE and SEMI, looking to the future and to the new projects that we can implement to improve care and the relationship between people with diabetes and healthcare professionals. this medical specialty.
