A search operation in the parking lot of a building, located in the Abbadi district in Temara, where an apartment of the sister of the main suspect of the terrorist cell linked to Daesh dismantled on September 10 is located, was carried out on Wednesday following suspicions that ‘a refrigerated vehicle belonging to the respondent and supposed to contain explosive and inflammatory substances was parked in this parking lot.
This operation is part of the pursuit of research and investigations carried out by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) under the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) and under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office in charge of terrorism, following the dismantling on September 10 of the terrorist cell linked to Daesh and composed of 5 suspects active in the cities of Témara, Skhirate, Tiflet and Tangier, indicates a statement from the BCIJ.
The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations began on Wednesday, in coordination with explosives technicians, crime scene experts and elements of the scientific and technical police, the search operation in the parking lot of a building located at Abbadi district in Témara where the apartment of the sister of the main suspect is located following suspicions that a refrigerated vehicle belonging to the respondent and supposed to contain explosive and inflammatory substances was parked in this parking lot, specifies the same source.
The location of the suspect refrigerated vehicle was located following information obtained during the preliminary investigation into the case, including statements from the wife of the main suspect, who indicated her location to the police and attended the search that allowed the seizure of the vehicle, added the press release, noting that this vehicle was well closed which required for its unlocking to follow the safety and security protocol in force.
The search measures allowed the discovery and seizure inside the refrigerated vehicle belonging to the suspect of 6 glass bottles containing explosive liquids attached to cloth and a sword, in addition to two plastic boxes, one of which is volume of 20 liters and the other of 5 liters containing traces of suspicious chemical substances, added the same source, specifying that these products will be subject to the necessary technical expertise by the Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Samples of the seized products, which were the subject of an inventory, were taken by the scientific and technical police, according to the same source which specifies that these products were submitted to an explosives technician, before transporting them and to make them available to the preliminary investigation carried out by the BCIJ under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office in charge of terrorism and extremism cases.
