The Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla, through the Health Secretary, confirms the first case in the Atlantic capital of the disease known as monkeypox in Barranquilla, which occurred in a 28-year-old male patient.

The affected person is in isolation and under monitoring by the health authorities in order to stop possible new infections by determining early diagnoses, for this, the epidemiological fence with relatives and people in close contact.
