Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has acquired a Danish biotech company developing a drug against COVID-19 after a scandal in Australia caused by his refusal to be vaccinated.

Earlier in January, Djokovic was detained in Australia, where he arrived to participate in the Australian Open tournament, and placed in a migration detention center. A few days later, Djokovic was released from the detention center by court order, but the tennis player’s visa was revoked. As explained by the head of the Ministry of Immigration, Alex Hawke, the decision was made “in the public interest.” After being re-imposed in isolation, Djokovic appealed again, but this time it was rejected. January 17 athlete left the country.

Djokovic has previously said he opposes forced vaccinations. At the same time, the media wrote that at the end of last year he had been ill with a coronavirus.
