Released last week, macOS 12.2 would cause problems for some users using Bluetooth devices: the battery would tend to drain during the night, when the computer is supposed to remain on standby. The website MacRumors collected several testimonials from users who found their Macs having gone from 100% to 0% battery overnight. By analyzing the activity of the Mac thanks to the Terminal, users would have identified the culprit: Bluetooth accessories which would regularly bring the Mac out of its sleep and would therefore drain the battery.

The bug would affect users of M1 Macs as well as Intel Macs. However, we do not know more for the moment: the bug is certainly not generalized to all users with Bluetooth devices, but there are not yet enough elements to point the finger at the precise cause. The people concerned say in any case that deactivating Bluetooth (or disconnecting all accessories) during the night solves this battery problem: it is a temporary solution while waiting for the arrival of a fix.
