“Don’t come today!”

With the coronavirus, making an appointment has become mandatory to pass your vehicle for technical inspection. An obligation that no longer exists in the north of the country since Flanders has decided to reintroduce technical control without an appointment. And obviously, no one was used to it anymore.

In East Flanders, for example, the massive influx of motorists has created long queues. So much so that the police had to ask to avoid going to a control center. “Don’t come today,” implored GOCA Vlaanderen, the center of expertise for car inspection and driving licenses. The traffic jams were such that they extended over the outer belt around the technical control of Sint-Denijs-Westrem. And this was not an exception since in Aalst the situation was similar.
