The deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes asks the Ministry of Health to allocate a “reinforced volume” of vaccine doses to ensure the protection of the greatest number.

Eric Ciotti does not want to see any relaxation of vigilance in the heart of summer, while monkeypox continues to worry.

In a letter that we were able to read this Wednesday, August 3, the Republican deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes contacted Minister François Braun about anti-Monkeypox vaccines.

Even though “At this stage, the Provence-Alpes-Côte-Azur region seems less exposed than Ile-de-France on the number of confirmed cases” the elected representative of Nice “remains concerned about the low number of doses allocated to the Alpes-Maritimes (about 500 per week).”

According to the deputy, the staffing level is not sufficient to absorb the waiting list already registered by the departmental toll-free number, with around a hundred people.

The tourist attractiveness of the Côte d’Azur, which can accelerate any epidemic, is also a risk factor.

Also, Eric Ciotti calls to “accelerate the fight”thanks to “an increased volume of vaccine doses.”

Very early in the crisis, Department 06 mobilized its CeGIDD to offer screening and vaccination.
