A 3-year-old girl was hit by a car in Brasschaat, located in the Antwerp province. The incident occurred on Saturday evening and the driver fled the scene afterward. The accident took place at 7 p.m. while the girl was crossing a pedestrian crossing. The victim was taken to UZA in Edegem in a critical condition. The Brasschaat police zone’s spokesperson, Julie Mampuy, said that the driver “fled at high speed.” An investigation of the accident’s circumstances was assigned to a traffic expert by the prosecution. The driver is still at large.
