I.m Compared to the first-generation Nissan Juke, the new, the second Juke is a U-turn. Namely away from the exaggerated design spectacle, towards a rather serious and smart appearance with extremely complete equipment. The entry-level version of the recommended Visia variant (only with manual gearbox) succeeds at a low price of 18,990 euros. Switch box at 25,790 euros.
In addition, the second generation of Juke introduced a waiver under the knobbly hood. Because even for model year 2018/19, the dear customer had a large selection: About half a dozen engine variants were offered, from the 1.2-liter four-cylinder to the 1.6-liter turbo rocket with just under 220 hp and a 1 , 5-liter diesel went to work quite lustful combustion. So it’s over.
There is only a single engine choice for the new Juke, which will be launched in autumn 2019, but at least five equipment versions: The 999-cubic three-cylinder engine delivers 117 hp at 5250 rpm and has its best torque of 180 Nm from 1750 to 4000 rpm . However, there is an option for the transmission: Instead of the standard six-speed manual transmission, a seven-speed dual clutch transmission can be ordered. It usually costs a hefty 1600 euros surcharge (in the Tekna even 2000 euros) and should be avoided. After a certain period of time, it works with quick gear changes, whether initiated automatically or with a lever, but with a clutch that reacts very harshly and suddenly, especially when starting and parking. With jerky movements when parking, this can often lead to supposedly foolish driver behavior.
In addition, the switch box for downshifting via the accelerator pedal reacts noticeably sluggish to sleepy. Rigorous full throttle is needed in the cozy seventh gear on the highway slope, for example to shift to a suitable, lower gear level at 110 km / h, so that the format-filling delivery van is driven out of the rear-view mirror. Because the dollhouse motor prefers to rummage around in his power box instead of promptly delivering, the driver prefers to use the button lever and request higher speeds.
Then the Juke gets a little livelier with an audible roar, but not really willing to track. He reached the promised 180 km / h and struggled from a standing start to 100 km / h in less than eleven seconds. But you can tell that this 1200-kilo Nissan prefers a quieter driving style. This also benefits consumption. Because fast driving on the motorway wants to be rewarded with 9.5 liters for 100 km, quietly gliding is rewarded by the safe front-wheel drive Juke with 6.5 liters, an average of 7.6 liters.
The now 4.21 meter long Juke did the design reassurance. In addition, its second generation benefits from progress. It drives on the seriously dimensioned platform of the Renault Captur, which is affiliated with the group, and can therefore not only refer to a longer wheelbase of 2.64 meters, but also to more spacious dimensions in the interior. The seating position is pleasantly sublime, the hard integrated and non-adjustable headrests disturb the front.
In particular, it sits better on the rear seats, which are easily accessible through larger doors, and with sufficient degrees of freedom. The storage volume is specified as 422 to 1088 liters. In everyday life, the rear seat backrests can be folded down from the 75 cm deep and one meter wide trunk to a 150 cm deep loading area. Quite an acceptable 1250 kilos are permitted as a braked trailer load.
