EA Sports announces cross-platform on F1 2022 game

Ahead of the feature’s final inclusion at the end of August, players can compete against their friends on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for two trials running from August 5-7 and August 12-14 in Social Race and Two-Player Career modes.

Lee Mather, F1 Senior Creative Director at Codemasters said: “Cross-play brings all of our players together and allows them to decide who is the best driver across all platforms. Cross-play also allows us to create better matchmaking opportunities so players can race against other pilots with similar skills. »

This function was very requested by the community and was already present on several games. Adding cross-play will improve matchmaking and allow players to get together with friends regardless of platform.

Obviously, it is also possible to deactivate cross-play for those who wish to face only competitors from the same family of devices.

This is the second announcement of the week from Electronic Arts and Codemasters who had made an update for integrate the Portimao and Shanghai Grand Prix.
