The telecoms operator Inwi was selected following a call for tenders by the development company Zenata (SAZ), a subsidiary of the CDG Group, for the management and operation of the telecoms network of part of the network. ‘Eco-Cité Zenata, designed by SAZ to serve all future inhabitants with optical fiber (FTTH).
Appointed as manager of Eco-Cité Zenata, Inwi now has the mission of supporting SAZ in all stages of development and maintenance of the FTTH network of this Eco-Cité, the operator said in a press release. , specifying that an agreement was signed last Friday in this direction, between the two parties.
“Inwi is today a benchmark operator in the deployment and management of large-scale telecom networks. The selection of Inwi to carry out this ambitious project confirms the operator’s expertise in the deployment and management of fiber optic networks intended for both professionals and individuals ”, said Mohamed Benmahjoub, Chief Executive Officer. business and development delegate at Inwi.
For his part, the general manager of the SAZ, Mohammed Amine El Hajhouj, underlined that “through this partnership with Inwi for the management of the FTTH network carried out by the SAZ, the future inhabitants of Eco-city Zenata will be able to benefit a high-performance optical fiber telecom connection, while obviously retaining their freedom to choose any local telephone operator ”.
He continued: “The commitments made by Inwi within the framework of this partnership concerning the maintenance and operation of the network entrusted to it, guarantee improved network reliability and a reduction in intervention times”.
In order to best support SAZ, Inwi will set up a one-stop shop for investors, promoters and commercial operators in charge of the development of the Eco-Cité Zenata project.
A technical unit will also be set up to offer the various stakeholders permanent technical and operational assistance. It will also make it possible to manage, in real time, any incident likely to occur on the network.
Located between Casablanca and Rabat, Eco-Cité Zenata, which covers an area of 1,860 ha, aims to accommodate 300,000 inhabitants and create 100,000 jobs. It is the first city to have obtained the performance label “Ecocity Label” (ECL) which is issued by Cerway (international body and operator certifying HQE ™). Eco-Cité Zenata has also obtained HQE Planning certification.
