jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Pediatrician Kanya Ayu Paramastri from the University of Indonesia said that parents should be more careful in paying attention to family conditions, especially children, at the time of the pandemic.
“Prevent before the child gets sick. Parents are responsible for maintaining children’s health through nutrition,” said Kanya in a virtual discussion, Tuesday (16/2).
He said that maintaining the best health of children is by providing nutrition in order to achieve a good nutritional status.
So that the immune system can be boosted optimally.
The COVID-19 pandemic requires the public to pay more attention to matters of mental and physical health for all family members, especially children whose immune systems are not as strong as adults.
“One more thing that is important is immunization. Do not let the child not get vaccinated, once the pandemic is over, another infection outbreak will emerge that should have been prevented by immunization. Don’t forget to check the vaccination recommendations for children aged 0-18 years which were updated in 2020 by IDAI, “explained Kanya.
According to him, in the early days of the pandemic, when people had a lot of activities at home, the number of patients and visits to the pediatric clinic was greatly reduced.
On the other hand, the number of healthy patients who came to be immunized has significantly increased.
