The habit of walking every day, like the practice of any other physical activity, for example, pedaling, housework, gardening and orchard, dancing, going up and down stairs, walking the pet or the baby in the stroller, contributes to improve health, releases tension, increases energy and well-being, helps strengthen cardiovascular health and controls body weight, reduces the risk of chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as helps prevent dementia and osteoporosis, tones the legs, arms, buttocks and abs.

This practice must be accompanied by a healthy diet, which includes the consumption of five portions of fruits and vegetables every day, moderating the consumption of table salt and sugars and derivatives (especially ultra-processed products), correct hydration by consuming water and avoiding the consumption of alcohol and sugary drinks (juices in cartons and soft drinks).

The recommendation is to take a walk or another physical activity, preferably one hour a day, avoiding times of extreme heat as occurs at this time of year and in summer in our country, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., since the exposure Sun exposure at these times can cause headache, nausea, dizziness, tachycardia, dehydration and even fainting.
