The General Authority for State Real Estate had started receiving applications last year, specifically on the fifth of Jumada al-Ula, and set a one-year deadline for submitting ownership applications.

The third article of the rules revealed the conditions for accepting the application for ownership, and included that the application should be submitted within a year from the date of 5-5-1442 AH corresponding to 20-12-2020 AD, and that it had not been previously decided by a court ruling that acquired the final status, and that the property subject of the application should not be within the sites In which property may not be acquired legally or under orders, decisions and instructions, including the boundaries of the Two Holy Mosques, the holy sites and their buildings, coastal lands and the sanctuary of the sea, and fish farming projects, in addition to the sanctuaries of borders and national reserves, lands of wild parks, wildlife reserves, mountain tops, and lands Pastures, forests, valley streams, torrents, reefs, floods, archaeological sites, areas reserved for hydrocarbons, mining, energy and mineral ores sites, power paths and stations, areas of water sources, dam basins and their sanctuaries, and public properties for which public utility and service bonds are issued.

And the General Authority for State Real Estate revealed that the committees to consider requests received 374 thousand requests to own real estate within 100 days through the “Confidence” platform, while the number of completed applications exceeded more than 95 thousand requests, during the period from 12/20/2020 AD until 3/30/ 2021 AD.

The authority clarified that the number of committees formed to look into requests for real estate ownership amounted to 17 committees distributed over different regions of Saudi Arabia, with a committee in each region, except for the Riyadh region, in which 4 committees were formed.

Earlier, Ihsan Bafaqih, Governor of the State Real Estate General Authority, stated that the documents required when submitting ownership applications are to attach a survey report issued by an authorized office, including coordinates, the type of property, its location, borders, sides and area, and submitting documents supporting ownership or revival. As for the aerial photographer, the amendments relieved the applicant of the burden of providing the aerial photographer in the documents required of him, and the committees will verify the revival according to the photographs provided by the competent authorities.
