‘Electric scooter fined for no pollution certificate’; The police explained that it was a mistake

Malappuram: Police fined an electric scooter for not having a pollution certificate. Karuvarakkund police charged an electric scooter with a fine of Rs 250. The receipt of fine collected by the police was also circulated on social media. After that, the police fined the car without a smoke pipe and it was raining trolls.

But the police came forward with an explanation in the incident. Police say it was a mistake. The e-Pace machine where the fine receipt is paid has a number for each offence. The police explained that when they tried to collect a fine for the crime of not presenting the license, the code was violated.

The police say that the fine was Rs 250 for both violations, so it was not changed. The higher officials informed that no action will be taken against the police officers after realizing that it was an accident. The passenger also stated that he was not wearing a helmet and when the police informed him that he would be fined 500 rupees, he humbly reduced the fine to 250 rupees.

When I received the receipt, I noticed the discrepancy. The passenger also explained that this is why the fine receipt was posted on social media.
