electricity and gas prices fall

The price of gas for delivery in March on the Amsterdam stock exchange, the benchmark price in Europe, fell below the 100 dollar mark per megawatt hour. Its price had increased for four consecutive days. The price of gas even increased on Thursday by more than half (to 134 euros per megawatt hour).

Friday around 2:30 p.m., the megawatt hour cost 93 euros, or 30% less than at the close on Thursday.

The German electricity price, the reference price, fell by 26% to 220 euros per megawatt hour.
