The great artist, Mervat Amin, was absent from the Cairo Days of Arab Drama concert, which was held at the Grand Theater of the Opera House, which witnessed her being honored for all her works and in appreciation of her artistic history.
And the actress Ilham Shaheen, honorary president of the Cairo Days of Arab Drama, received her award in her place.
The Cairo Days Administration for Arab Drama had earlier announced the creation of a new annual award to be added to the competition awards, in the name of “The Art of Love Samir and Dalal”, to be awarded to one of the art stars for his entire work and in appreciation of his artistic history.
The organizing committee created the award, which bears the name of the two late stars, in honor of their names and their great artistic and human giving, which culminated in the love of the masses.
The Cairo Days Administration announced that the award was given this year to the great artist Mervat Amin, and an agreement was reached between the honorary president of Cairo Days.
Actress Ilham Shaheen and Actresses Amy and Donia Samir Ghanem handed over this award, as they agreed to participate in this important human moment.
The Higher Committee of Cairo Days confirmed that the artist Mervat Amin was chosen to receive this award because she is the most worthy this year for her great spiritual and human relationship with the family of the artist Samir Ghanem.
Donia and Amy Samir Ghanem were also absent from the concert, and the artist, Ilham Shaheen, revealed that the reason for their absence was because they did not overcome the state of sadness due to the departure of their parents, Samir Ghanem and Dalal Abdel Aziz,
Noting that they apologized for attending at the last time and that she appreciates it. The artist, Ilham Shaheen, revealed in her statements to Cairo 24, the reason for the absence of the two artists is that so far they cannot leave the house and face the cameras and the public.
And Ilham Shaheen said that Donia and Amy Samir Ghanem’s decision to retire from acting is nothing but a rumor, but they are currently trying to get out of the bad psychological state they are going through, to return to work again.
Actress Hanan Mutawa confirmed the same, noting that Amy and Donia Samir Ghanem are in a difficult psychological state, and she also called on everyone to pray for them to be able to leave their home again.
The Cairo Festival for Arab Drama was attended by a large number of stars, most notably the artist Ilham Shaheen, Dora, Hani Shaker, Bushra, Hanan Mutawa, Aisha bin Ahmed, director Mohamed Al-Adl, Arwa Gouda, Manal Salama, member of the Syndicate of Musical Professions Helmy Abdel Baqi.
The Cairo Days concert for Arab drama was revived this year in Egypt, at the Cairo Opera House, while the last session of it was revived in Paris, and a large number of artists are keen to attend, because it represents a link between Egypt and the Arab countries.
