Elisabeth Borne announces the extension of the rebate of 30 cents “until mid-November”

“We are going to extend this discount on fuel until mid-November and I had the CEO of Total this afternoon who will also extend his discount”, announced the French Prime Minister to the 8 p.m. newspaper of TF1. The rebate financed by the State was to drop to 10 centimes from November 1.

So that’s good news if you’re used to crossing the border to refuel.

The Prime Minister also warned that there would be new requisitions of employees of oil depots in the event of “very tense situations” on the supply of fuel.

“If there are very tense situations tomorrow, we would also carry out requisitions,” she said. “We are at about 30% of service stations that are experiencing supply problems on at least one fuel”, “it’s too much”, regretted the head of government, asking the striking employees of TotalEnergies to “respect the majority agreement and not to block the country”.
