American universities dominate the world ranking with 234 institutions
Three universities in the United Arab Emirates have been ranked among the top 1,000 higher education institutions in the world. According to the Research.com report, Khalifa University of Science and Technology (659), Sharjah University (739) and New York University Abu Dhabi (844) are the top three institutions in higher education in the country and entered the list of the 1000 most famous in the world.
Research.com’s ranking is based on data collected by Microsoft Academic Graph. The research has listed the best universities in each country. In the United Arab Emirates, the main universities are United Arab Emirates University, Gulf Medical University, Zayed University, Ajman University of Science and Technology, American University of Sharjah, British University in Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Higher Schools of Technology, Emirates College for Higher Education, Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and University American from Ras Al Khaimah.
In addition, universities in the United States dominate the world rankings with 234 institutions listed, or 23.4% of top universities. The largest number of influential universities are located in Europe with 39.4% of all leading universities. Harvard University hosts the largest number of top scientists – 2,113 researchers, followed by Stanford University (1,148), University of California (907), Johns Hopkins University (805) and Oxford University (848).
