Emmanuel Macron in fall according to a recent survey: how to explain it?

According to this survey, 65% of French people are dissatisfied with the actions of the President of the Republic. Emmanuel Macron therefore lost 3 more points in a month, to reach his lowest level of popularity since February 2020, i.e. before the Covid-19 crisis. Currently, 34% of French people say they are still satisfied with its action

It should be noted that business is not going any better with regard to its Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, since the latter registers 64% dissatisfaction, against 59% last December.

But how to explain this fall in the polls for the president and his Prime Minister? As revealed BFM TVwho cites figures provided by the JDD, the pension reform project announced by the government is going rather badly with the French.

last Thursday and this Saturday, major demonstrations have also taken place in France against this reform. And when we analyze the poll figures more closely, we can see that certain segments of the population accept it even less than others.

Thus, according to the results of Ifop revealed by the JDD, barely 31% of 50-64 year olds are satisfied with the President of the Republic, against 40% for those over 65 years old. Macron’s popularity drops again among 25-34 year olds and reaches 29% in this category, a loss of 10 points in one month!

In terms of socio-professional categories, only 23% of the unemployed are satisfied with Macron, which represents a loss of 15 points. The fall is also spectacular on the management side, where the President loses 14 points and only reaches 37% satisfaction.
