(PLO)- Hieu misrepresented information about customers buying pesticides, overstated the number of drugs purchased by customers to get agricultural supplies sold by Thoai Son food company, appropriating VND 449 million.
On February 15, the Investigation Police Department of Thoai Son district, An Giang province said that they had just arrested Tran Chi Hieu (35 years old, living in Vinh An commune, Chau Thanh district, An Giang province) under a special wanted warrant for Mr. crime of embezzlement of property.
According to the case file, before that Hieu worked at Thoai Son Food Company Limited. Hieu was assigned to advise farmers on agricultural production methods, manage farmers’ debts, collect debts transferred to the company, compare data as required, etc.
In order to have money to spend, from January to November 2022, Hieu made false statements about customers buying pesticides; increase the number of plant protection drugs that customers buy; then appropriated the company’s agricultural materials to sell outside, with a total value of 449 million dong.

Through verification of the company’s denunciation, Thoai Son district police investigated the case, and Hieu fled the locality. On December 27, 2022, the Investigation Police Agency of Thoai Son District Public Security issued a special arrest warrant for Tran Chi Hieu on charges of property embezzlement.
By professional measures, on February 9, the police force of Thoai Son district in collaboration with the police of Vinh An commune, Chau Thanh district arrested Hieu when he returned to his hometown to visit his home.
Currently, Thoai Son District Police are consolidating the file, continuing to investigate and handle according to regulations.
