Engie is preparing to stop nuclear

This means that the last Belgian reactor (Doel 2) must be shut down on December 1, 2025. A final assessment of the situation is however scheduled for the end of 2021: for lack of finding sufficient alternative production capacities – essentially new gas-fired power stations – an extension of the two most recent reactors (Doel 4 and Tihange 3) could be considered.
