Erdogan reveals Putin’s opinion on the conversation with UN Secretary General Guterres

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin called positive the talks held in Moscow with UN Secretary General António Guterres.

As the Turkish leader pointed out, Putin said that the participation of the UN in the settlement in Ukraine “is a positive development in terms of the future.” According to him, the UN Secretary General made a similar assessment about the conversation with the Russian leader.

Earlier, Guterres flew to Kyiv. There, he should hold talks with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as Foreign Minister of the Republic Dmitry Kuleba.

Before that, during a meeting with Putin, Guterres agreed with him on the participation of the UN and the Red Cross mission in the evacuation of civilians from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.

Also, Putin, during negotiations with the UN Secretary General, pointed out that the territories may not apply to the central authorities for permission on sovereignty. This decision was made by the International Court of Justice on the self-proclaimed Kosovo. Its independence was later recognized by many countries. According to him, Russia did the same with respect to the DPR and LPR and provided them with military assistance in full accordance with the Charter of the organization.
