Gabrielle Lesage had the idea of creating a new way to visit Quimper in Finistère, without going through the classic guided tours. This guide-lecturer, who had already initiated a treasure hunt for young audiences, launched her Escapade Game, in collaboration with the tourist office and the Heritage House. She hopes in this way to attract a younger audience and offer everyone the opportunity to visit the city, without time constraints. “It is very difficult to offer individual visitors original services at attractive prices“, indicates the designer who also wants the activity to be profitable for the guide. She therefore took advantage of confinements and a pregnancy to make her project a reality.
Escapade game comes in a box, like a board game. “There is a giant map, the daily newspaper, Le petit Quimpérois, which allows us to guide us in the investigation and also postcards which are used to solve puzzles if we do not know the answer.“, she explains. The postcards, like the tote bag illustrating the city, are provided so that in the end, the players have tourist products in memory. “How about sending these cards to your grandmother or cousins after the game?Gabrielle Lesage smiles.
1h30 of play … or more according to your desires
Scheduled to last 1h30, Escapade game can be played between one and ten people. “But the experience can also last longer if you stop for a coffee or to visit a museum or a neighborhood.“, slips the guide-lecturer. This format of visit by the game, without using the digital tool, is a first in France according to the creator who would like to develop it in other cities.
The Escapade game box is sold for 25 euros at the Quimper tourist office. So far, 200 copies have been printed.
