The Genevan completed the Open de Crans at the 71e square. Time for recovery, before returning to the reality of the Challenge Tour not without ambition.

For Raphaël de Sousa, the results of the Omega European Masters 2021 are necessarily positive. «I got to see what it was like to play golf on weekends here», s‘we love’e the Genevan. After twelve failed attempts, he finally crossed the cut on Friday evening in Crans-Montana.
The 38-year-old was probably hoping for more than those 75 (+5) and 74 (+4) cards from the last two rounds that put him at 71e final rank (+8 in total), to 21 strokes of the winner of the 2021 edition, theand Danois Rasmus Hojgaard (20 years). But he’s not going to be choosy.
«This cut means a lot to me, he says. Because there have been the failures of the past, but also because we are talking about the major event for Swiss golfers, on which there is a lot of pressure. And then it’s a stage of the European Tour (editor’s note: the reference circuit of the Old Continent, on which no Switzerland is established). The course is demanding. It’s something else than what we are used to on the Challenge Tour.»
Raphaël de Sousa will find the reality of this secondary circuit after a two-week break. With increased confidence and l’ambition to join the top 45 of the season (editor’s note: he was 98e Sunday night), qualified for the Mallorca final (November), where tickets to settle permanently on the European Tour will be distributed.
«I’m closer to the end of my career than the beginning, but getting on the main circuit is still my goal, says the Genevan. It will take big results to achieve it, but if we do not set such goals, as high as they are, there is no point in playing.»
