This week, we learned that Halo Infinite once again lost its director following the changes made to the game. It is the turn of another big Microsoft exclusive to separate from its creative director, since Simon Woodroffe leaves his place in Rare and the game Everwild.
A departure for Rare
The studio confirmed this directly to VGC, thanking the work done by the ex-director and ensuring that the game was in good hands. No reason was given by the studio, but the site reports that sources claim he resigned earlier this month, and has been very absent since.
Given that Everwild was still in his research phase, and he’s not ready to be released anyway, this change of creative director shouldn’t upset Rare’s plans that much. Still, the signal sent is strong for those excluded made in Microsoft, especially after the movements around Halo Infinite. Let’s hope that the game can still continue its development without further hitch.
