After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the queens of Course de dragsters de RuPaul are ready to kill fans with their appearances at RuPaul’s DragCon 2022 held in Los Angeles. A full-fledged convention celebrating drag performers and the art of drag kicked off in 2015 with RuPaul’s first-ever DragCon in Los Angeles. The event expanded further in 2016, and it has continued to grow over the years. In 2017, DragCon was also brought to New York.

In 2018, RuPaul’s DragCon in Los Angeles and New York drew up to 100,000 visitors and brought in $8 million in profits (via THR). Like other pop culture conventions dedicated to superheroes, comic books, movies and TV shows, DragCon has earned its place as a pivotal event for LGBTQIA+ artists attached to the RuPaul universe of drag-centric shows.
