The ministry said in a statement, “An investigative committee was formed under the direction of the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Names al-Jubouri, to investigate the incident of gunfire by the director of the youth middle school for boys affiliated with the first Karkh education, on one of the national events that were held on the school campus.”
The statement added, “The committee recommended that the principal be dismissed from the school administration and transferred to another school due to his violation of regulations and instructions and lack of observance of public safety towards students and school workers, in addition to issuing a warning penalty against him based on Article (8) Paragraph Two of the State Employees Discipline Law No. 14 for the amended year 1991,” pointing out that “the penalty will be more severe in the event that this is repeated in the future.”
