Exseremi Announces Jackson’s “No Apology” Legal Action Over His Firing | National

“In the absence of a public apology from Minister Giorgio Jackson, I will be forced to initiate legal action,” said former seremi Patricia Hidalgo after a MIDESO statement. In that text it is mentioned that the authority was disconnected for not filing a complaint for the alleged rape of a girl in a facility to care for people in street situations, which Hidalgo denies.

The former secretary of Social Development of the Metropolitan region, Patricia Hidalgo, assured that She will present legal action if Minister Giorgio Jackson does not publicly apologize to her.

Everything goes back to last November 30, when the Government announced the departure of Hidalgo. Although the reasons were not known, in an interview with Radio Bío Bío he assured that La Moneda made this decision not following instructions on how to vote on projects that she did not want to approve.

Specifically, the initiatives in question were the Mall Vivo de Ñuñoa, section 2 of the Vespucio Norte highway and a water treatment plant in Quilicura.

Following the ex-authority’s statements, the Ministry of Social Development (MIDESO) issued a statement to present its version of the matter.

According to the text, Hidalgo was dismissed from her duties due to loss of confidence, since would not have filed a complaint for the alleged rape of a girl in a facility to care for people living on the street.

For this reason, it maintained that a summary was also filed to establish possible administrative responsibilities and a complaint was filed with the Public Ministry.

Later, the portfolio minister himself, Giorgio Jackson, stated in Meganoticias that “Given that different speculations are circulating that are not true, what happened is that since the people involved in the alleged crime had graduated from street programs, that is, they were no longer in the residence when she went to see them, she ( Hidalgo) formally disregarded the issue.”

Exseremi announces legal action if Jackson does not apologize

Immediately after, the ex-seremi indicates that Jackson summoned her to his office on November 30 to tell her that there was a “lack of trust”, but not linked to the alleged violation described by MIDESO.

“It was a ‘bad evaluation’ due to my differences with the undersecretary Francisca Perales and the presidential delegate Constanza Martínez, because they had had differences and did not abide by their authority when approving or rejecting projects in the Evaluation Commission of the RM”he detailed.

In this sense, he assures that “no other fact was mentioned. That is why I am surprised that the statement points to other facts that were never made explicit to me, and that, furthermore, they insult me for no reason, such as failing to report a crime.”

According to his version, he became aware of the events a week after they occurred, since “They would have happened in a hostel for migrant families that is directly administered by MIDESO, under the administrative supervision of Undersecretary Francisca Perales.”

“Notwithstanding the foregoing, when finally, a week after they were informed and having become aware of this complaint late, the first thing I made sure was to verify that the complaints had been made, receiving an affirmative response,” he added.

Finally, he held that In the absence of a public apology from Minister Giorgio Jackson, she will be “forced to initiate legal actions to restore my honor and dignity.”
