F1 Monaco GP Free run 2nd time: Ferrari is one-two at the top of Leclerc, followed by two Red Bull F1 cars[F1-Gate .com]

The second free run of the 2022 F1 Round 7 Monaco Grand Prix was held on Friday, May 27, at the Monte Carlo city course, with Charles Leclerc (Scuderia Ferrari) setting the fastest time on the first day.

A 60-minute FP2 session from 17:00 local time. The temperature rose slightly to 30 degrees. FP2 focused on tire comparisons and practical long runs for the finals.

As with the other Grand Prix, the start was confirmed with the harder tires, then the time was set with a short run, and then the long run with different tires for each team.

Early on, Daniel Ricciardo (McLaren) lost control in front of the poolside chicane and crashed into the barrier. The session was interrupted by the red flag, and Ricardo finished the run without setting the time.

After that, although some machines went off course, the session proceeded relatively smoothly.

Charles Leclerc of Scuderia Ferrari set the fastest time for the second free run following the first. The car is very stable, and only one person shows a different run, marking 1 minute 12 seconds 656. His teammate Carlos Sainz is also a close margin of 0.044 seconds in time, but the impression that he is inferior to Leclerc in terms of stability such as long runs.

Sergio Perez was 0.379 seconds behind in 3rd place, and Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing were slightly behind Scuderia Ferrari by 0.447 seconds in 4th place. However, the trend in the past few races is notable as Ferrari continues to dominate in the initial setup on the first day and Red Bull continues to improve on the second day. However, with regard to Monaco, the speed of one shot in qualifying is more important than the handling of race pace and tires, so it is undeniable that it is inferior at this point.

5th is Lando Norris of McLaren. Although it is not as good as the top four cars, it is in the same ranking as in the morning and leads the midfield.

6th is George Russell of Mercedes F1. His teammate Lewis Hamilton is 12th. It was hoped that the problem of popping would be solved and the performance would continue to improve at the previous Spanish Grand Prix, but both drivers complained of unpleasant bouncing, which was a rather disappointing first day session.

7th is Pierre Guthrie of Scuderia AlphaTauri. Team mate Yuki Tsunoda was also in 10th position and was in a position to advance to Q3 in the form of a timesheet. It will be interesting to see how we can improve the tendency to stall on the second day.

The third free run of the F1 Monaco GP will be held from 20:00 (13:00 local time) on Saturday, 28th tomorrow.
